MAKING HEADLINES AUDIO BOOK – Chapter Thirteen

In Chapter Thirteen, a family reunion puts Rachel’s dubious cooking talents to the test – while her sister Lou ruffles feathers with some snarky comments about Rachel’s love life.

It’s timely then that Rachel’s pal Kate may soon have a solution for their accommodation dilemma.

But amid the celebrations, the sinister letters from Rachel’s Secret Admirer continue to keep coming, raising concerns among her work colleagues.

It’s a shorter chapter this week, so a lighter workload for Mr Fletcher – only two male characters – both are brilliant. Take a listen and let me know your thoughts in the ‘comments’ section.

MAKING HEADLINES AUDIO BOOK – Chapter Twelve ( 3 months later )

In Chapter Twelve, we see Rachel start trying to bring some order to her life. Firstly by finding a place to live! Which one of her girlfriends do you think would be the best match as a housemate for Rachel?

Recording this week’s chapter and contemplating Rachel’s questionable choices…

But when it comes to her love life, Rachel’s world is still full of indecision – especially now Damien has started working at Network Six. At least he gets a chance to explain a little about why his situation is ALSO complicated. Maybe it’s better if Rachel stays single for now!

The busiest recording week of all for Mr Fletcher – NINE male characters this week!! My favourite is Deano the bogan who Rachel meets on a night out with the girls.

Let me know which one you like best in the comments section. Enjoy!

MAKING HEADLINES AUDIO BOOK – Chapter Eleven

In Chapter Eleven, the Channel Six make-up team unveil a wonderful surprise that delights Rachel.

We also see Rachel and Mitch’s relationship take a romantic turn but her uncertainty about them having a future means follows up on an invitation from Damien. Listen here to find out how that plays out!

It also occurred to me – reading this book again after a ten year gap – that Rachel IS probably drinking rather a lot – what do you think? Could it be connected to the fact that the letters from her ‘secret admirer’ are becoming increasingly threatening?

The book cover of MAKING HEADLINES – which also hints at Rachel trying to keep a balance between her work life and social life!

As for Mr Fletcher’s involvement this week, his job was quite a hefty one with EIGHT different voices to record – the biggest number I’ve asked of him yet! Hopefully you’ll enjoy this chapter – especially Fletch’s voicing of Rex the make-up artist. (he he he!)

MAKING HEADLINES AUDIO BOOK – Chapter Ten

In Chapter Ten, all of the men in Rachel’s life unexpectedly collide at a major TV show launch party which – like a domino chain collapsing – leads to a chain of disastrous results. Rachel seeks refuge from the fallout with a girlfriend who gives her some sage advice. But there’s plenty of drama unfolding…

Oh no – what will happen at the launch party for TV show ROCK RAP when an unexpected guest turns up???

Mr Fletcher was a little taken aback when he realised he’d be voicing SIX male characters this week – but hey , that’s nothing compared to MY input so he really should quit complaining! 😜

Enjoy Chapter Ten and let me know your thoughts in the Comments section.

MAKING HEADLINES AUDIO BOOK – Chapter Nine, Part Two

In the second part of Chapter Nine, a feisty clash between Rachel and a news sports colleague has consequences Rachel wasn’t expecting. However, she does manage to do a good deed for a sick child which helps compensate for any setbacks.

What Rachel thinks is her ‘sparkling wit’ in an exchange with a newsroom colleague has unexpected repercussions…

A busy week again for Alan Fletcher – voicing FOUR male characters. Do you think any of them sound like Dr Karl from Neighbours? Let me know in the comments section!
